Good day from the City of Love!

This is truly an awesome news especially those who want to celebrate Christmas here in Iloilo and this is one of the reasons why it’s more fun living in here.

An article from Iloilo Metropolitan Times by Reymar Latoza shared that the Iloilo City government through City Tourism and Development Office (CTDO) will hold the first ever giant lantern festival next month having a theme: Viva Parol: Kasanag kag Duag sang Paskwa, the festival will showcase the creativity of Ilonggos.

Additionally according to the City Mayor, Jose Espinosa III in his press release said : “will remind us that lanterns symbolize Christmas and this season is the best time to celebrate Jesus Christ’s birth.”

The City encourages all 180 barangays to join in the this first-ever Giant Lantern festival. And all their entries will be displayed starting from December 8 to January 6, 2018, along Muelle Loney Street, City Proper.

The awarding of winners will be set on December 15 (the place was not stated if where will be the awarding).

If all the barangays will join, will see about 180 giant lanterns, and this will be truly a huge first ever lantern festival. And we’re personally excited to see it cause according to the rules this will be made of recycled and indigenous materials.
